You're only as old as you feel: Jackson's 27th

Well this week has been enjoyable hanging out in Atlanta before school starts. I've been running around getting things together for school, Rush, and Jack's birthday.

He had no clue what I got him.

Although I was excited about one gift so he got it Saturday. He had been wanting me to look around for the album Jamey Johnson never released "They Call Me Country" and I found it!

He seemed pretty excited.

I was woke up at around 4:30 Alabama time to sing the "Happy Birthday" song so he could enjoy his strawberry cake and open his presents.

Little to say he's still a kid at heart and that's why I love the man.

Well he had some pictures he needed to frame so I got him a hanging picture frame for his bare walls. I also got him a Dr. Scholl's foot massager that he was ecstatic about.
He got home from work that day and immediately went to fill it up with water.

After Jack relaxed for about 20 minutes we got ready and headed out for dinner.

I also made a "homemade" strawberry cake for his birthday. He should feel special. I don't really cook or bake. Well I would, but I'm not that great at it. He says its good and I had a piece which was pretty good to me.

And the final cake:

O.T.W - Movie Madness

Well this past weekend Jackson and I had lazy nights in enjoying movies and some awesome grilled burgers. Props to Mr. Jackson Lilly.

We started it off Saturday night with The Switch:
It had its ups and downs with some good laughs. I enjoy watching Jennifer Anniston.

Then we ended Saturday night with How Do You Know:
Love Reese and Jack.

Sunday we were off with True Grit (Jackson's Pick):
I liked it. The girl got on my nerves, but it's not my kind of movie to just pick up and watch.
Jackson laughed here and there at their sentences.
I hear the old one is better.
I'd probably agree.

Movie Madness weekend was great with the boo.
Now off to a new week! Happy WEEK everyone!

Mystery Beer at Joe's

So last weekend Jackson and I stumbled upon this neat restaurant Joe's. It's in Midtown in HOTlanta and we enjoyed it.

They had a nice staff, great food, and drinks.

Also, what Jackson and I just got tickled about is the "mystery beer" they do. You just say, "I'll take the mystery beer" and the waitress goes to the bartender and he/she selects a random beer from the cooler. It was very entertaining to wait and see what beer we got next.

I was to chicken at first and just ordered a bud light, but saw how much fun it was and joined in.
And my luck I got a dark beer (which I'm not a fan of) so Jackson was kind enough to trade.

Also, while we were scamming the menu I told Jack to check out the BLunch section.
We laughed because that is my Dad's name in reverse, Benny Joe, and sent a picture my Mom's way.
All and all it is a nice relaxing place.
Bottles up for the Mystery Beer idea.

Buddy Update:

Buddy hasn't been feeling to great, so I took him to our vet, Dr. Sam, for a look.

He said it was just enviroment allergies and there is nothing we can really do about it.

He now has some medicine and some special shampoo for his "little" body. All is good.

Silly.

But Serious.

Love him or hate him. He don't stunt much, but the Sanford Crew and treats.

Skeez bar.

Well this past Wednesday I went to Auburn to help my friend Jessica move.
After a long day of moving, she still made it out.

We had a great time all together and met up with old friends.

It's always a place to run into good friends when you least expect it.
B-Prince. West Ga AXiD in AU!

Blurry, but Handley reunites.

Life is good in AUBURN, Alabama. War Eagle.
And of course Amanda made it out with me. She also let me crash with her.
I thank her for her hospitality.

IKEA adventure.

As my journey to Atlanta to see my boo is becoming on a regular basis, I headed GA bound Thursday afternoon for a nice weekend.

When Jackson arrived I already had dinner cooked, which was stir fry, green bean casserole, mac-n-cheese, and some corn.

Even though the stir fry didn't turn out as plan, Jackson had two plates full and I lost count of the amount of green bean casserole he inhaled. I was happy he enjoyed it.

On Friday we grabbed some unhealthy drive-thru and watched TV until we could not hold our eyes open.

Saturday was a fun outing. Early that morning we ate breakfast, in no rush we headed downtown Atl to Ikea.

Wow, Ikea is overwhelming.  I did not no which way to go and Jackson was just as lost as I was. Like my sister n law said, "You have to go in there knowing what you are looking for" and we were just not prepared for that hectic Saturday morning. Although it was crazy, it was still fun and something to do. So all you people who have not experienced the Ikea store should, just try to do it during the week. It might be less crowded.

Check it out online too at http://www.ikea.com/!

10 years and many more.

Congratulation to my Dad.

He has owned CarQuest in Roanoke for 10 ten years.

I hope for the best during the next 10 years and many more!

Happy 10th Anniversary Dad!

AQUA WHAT?

Aquapalooza 2011 was a big success for me and the gang.

Friday Jackson and I headed out over to D.J's on the boat so we could get up bright and early for the concert. We wanted to make sure to have the perfect spot also (which we did). Everything turned out great.

Jackson let me be the cap't Friday. I enjoyed it.
Saturday morning everyone got up and threw on their bathing suits. Jackson warned everyone if you weren't ready by 8:30 then you weren't boarding the Lilly boat and would have to come by land.

That rule also went for the crew that was meeting us at 9 at DJ's parents house.

Everyone knew the deal and made it to the boat in time.
The girls starting the day off.
The fam minus Clay.

DJ tried to get Jackson to change bathing suits. Then this happens over time.

Awesome weekend on Lake Martin.

Ashley's 21st

I'm BACK from living the fast life.

Well I'm a little late on the post since Ashley, my roommate and best friend, turned 21 on July 20th.

She's excited at 12.

We started out at the Border, a local Mexican restuarant, then to our apartment for quick drinks while catching up with everyone, and then high ho high ho it was off to the Square we go for some late night fun and drinks.
She enjoyed it a little to much, I think. You only turn 21 once!

Mrs. Donna mad a fabulous strawberry cake. Super yummy.

Some of the gals before heading out.

The night slowly came to an end.
Welcome to the other side ASH. Enjoy!
