Alabama Bound

Jackson's coming home today and a month away from him is A LONG time.

I sure have missed the goofy boy.

This is Jackson's excited face about coming back to Bama:
How could you not love this face?
So funny.

I would have posted my excited face, but mine looked as if someone was waving a doughnut in my face or something of the sort. Not Pretty. I think Jack got a good laugh out of it.

So I had my first Thanksgiving yesterday and I sent him a text saying he will
be missed while I stuff my face with delicious food and
a picture of my outfit I picked for the holiday feast. He approved.

Everyone is jealous that Jackson is living the life right now in Denver. He gets to shred the mountains any weekend he is free, which started this Saturday. He's sore, but I don't feel sorry for him because he sure did rub in being on that mountain. It's so beautiful there. Picture perfect.

Here's a picture he snapped and sent to me on the mountain.
He's a cutie, minus the dip habit.

Oh well I will be super stoked come 11 o'clock tonight as I pick him up at the Atlanta airport. It feels like Christmas! WAHOO!

Buddy is helping me pass the time by finishing up online assignments and updating the blog.
He's such a good helper. He knows when to suck up since Christmas is right around the corner.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Life is good.

Lesson for Educators:

History of Thanksgiving, CELEBRATE!

"On the fourth Thursday of November, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving, a national holiday honoring the early settlers and their harvest feast known as the first Thanksgiving."

The Celebration
One day that fall, four settlers were sent to hunt for food for a harvest celebration. The Wampanoag heard gunshots and alerted their leader, Massasoit, who thought the English might be preparing for war. Massasoit visited the English settlement with 90 of his men to see if the war rumor was true. Soon after their visit, the Native Americans realized that the English were only hunting for the harvest celebration. Massasoit sent some of his own men to hunt deer for the feast and for three days, the English and native men, women, and children ate together. The meal consisted of deer, corn, shellfish, and roasted meat, far from today's traditional Thanksgiving feast.

They played ball games, sang, and danced. Much of what most modern Americans eat on Thanksgiving was not available in 1621.

Although prayers and thanks were probably offered at the 1621 harvest gathering, the first recorded religious Thanksgiving Day in Plymouth happened two years later in 1623. On this occasion, the colonists gave thanks to God for rain after a two-month drought.

O.T.W Auburn/Georgia Game

Auburn football is coming to an end. Sadly, I'm ready for this pitiful year to be behind us since our record isn't looking to bright.
AU vs GA last weekend was fun even though we lost. I always find some fun where ever  I may be with the help of some good friends.

Friday night I headed to dinner with Clay and Caro then off to downtown we went. It was a fun night out since we knew we weren't going to have to get up to terribly early with the 6:00 AU game and all.

I got to meet up with some old and new friends at the bar and have a quick catch-up chat and we all went our separate ways. Fun, fun night. Even if some of them were GA fans. We all have our flaws.

I said I was going to get better about my picture taking, but the camera I decided to grab on the way out was dead and I didn't have a charger. My luck.

So I got Clay to snap a picture of us out, which ended up being the only one for Friday night!
Just a little brotherly/sisterly love.

Saturday we had a late start, but made it to tailgate just in time. It was so nice to see people we haven't seen in a while and catch up with everyone. I was so upset my camera was dead because I wanted to have tons of pictures to go through after this weekend, sad time. I had a pity party for a hot minute.

So everyone got out their phones and snapped a few here and there.
I stole some off via Facebook.

Some of the girls: Ash, Amanda, Whitney, and I

The 3 best friends.

I love her no matter what colors she's wearing.

Tater and the famous jacket.
He added new buttons-- thanks to his mom!
(notice: my head is being weighed down due to all of Wade's weight on me)

Sissy and I hanging out on the tailgate

After we tailgated for most of the day Jessica and I headed toward the stadium to watch some Auburn football. The game didn't go as planned, but we always seem to have fun and make up crazy situations "if" Auburn wins. The "meds" sure do help.

Turns out, Auburn got beat by GA. Bad. They showed no mercy toward our football team, but who's to blame them?

The loudest applause was when they announced that Alabama, the "#1 team in the nation," as ESPN puts it, had a L on record! War Eagle to that!

On a positive note: I am out for almost 2 weeks for Thanksgiving break and Jackson is heading back to Alabama is less than a week! I've missed that butter bean.

I'll be more prepared with the "mom camera" in hand for some great pictures, be on the lookout!
